Jason Prapas

Jason Prapas is on the Rapid Evaluation team at X, Google's Moonshot Factory. At X, Jason originates and assesses early stage moonshot opportunities, primarily in energy, agriculture, and industrial decarbonization. Prior to joining X, Jason was the Founder and CEO of Fyto, an agriculture robotics company revolutionizing sustainable agriculture by automating the production of aquatic plants for high-protein animal feed and biofertilizer. A veteran of the "hard tech" ecosystem, Jason has spent his career building and scaling technologies that address critical global challenges in energy, food, and water. A firm believer in the ability for deep tech startups to improve the world, Jason previously served as the Translational Research Director at the MIT Tata Center for Technology and Design, where he helped spin out 8 science-based ventures. He also co-founded Factor[e] Ventures, a firm dedicated to funding energy and infrastructure innovations in emerging markets. Jason holds a Ph.D. and Masters in Mechanical Engineering and a bachelors in Physics.
