Our team has long been working on several research and innovation projects when we saw the GSC application. One of us, who is an Aspire Leadership Program Alumnus, told us about this competition. We brainstormed virtually one day and eventually found a problem ultimately peculiar to coastal regions, hence our submission.
Provided our project is a huge success, in the next ten years, we should be able to have solved more than 30% of the world groundwater over-pumping problem, as well as a reduction in saltwater intake of coastal residents, thereby reducing health risk.
It has improved our resilience and team confidence.
Our team consists of four likeminded geology students and researchers.
