Wang Tao is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University, and a Senior Visiting Scholar at Columbia University. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Thermophysics from Zhejiang University and completed postdoctoral research at Columbia University. Professor Wang's research focuses on carbon dioxide capture and utilization, where he has developed innovative technologies including moisture-swing regeneration for direct air capture and organic steam sweep processes for flue gas decarbonization. His work on moisture-swing adsorption was recognized as one of two primary technological approaches in the 2018 joint report by the US National Academies of Sciences and Engineering on carbon negative emissions. He serves in key international roles including member of the Air Carbon Capture International Alliance (ACT) and Program Committee Chair of the ICCU International Conference, while leading multiple research projects including National Key R&D Program initiatives and National Natural Science Foundation grants.
