Liu Haifeng is a Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Energy and Power Engineering at Tianjin University, recognized as a National-level Talent, including honors such as the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars. He earned his Ph.D. in Power Machinery and Engineering from Tianjin University (TJU) in 2011, which included a joint training period at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His academic career at TJU began in 2011, progressing from Lecturer to Associate Professor in 2013, and to Full Professor in 2019. He currently holds a key role in the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Internal Combustion Engines. His research is centered on achieving carbon neutrality, focusing on advanced combustion theory, carbon-neutral fuels, and the application of AI and laser diagnostics in engine research. Prof. Liu also teaches core courses like ""Internal Combustion Engine Theory"" and has received prestigious awards, including a second prize in the NationalTeaching Achievement Award."
