Zhang Lei is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor serving as Vice Dean of the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering and Department Head of Power Engineering at North China Electric Power University. He serves as Director of the Hebei Provincial Key Laboratory of Low-Carbon and Efficient Power Generation and is recognized with multiple provincial honors including Hebei Model Teacher and Hebei Teaching Master. Professor Zhang's research focuses on stability of turbomachinery internal flows and energy system optimization, with current work spanning deep peak shaving of thermal power units, supercritical CO2 Brayton cycles, compressed air energy storage, and integrated renewable energy systems. His international experience includes academic research at Michigan State University as a visiting scholar. With over 40 first-author/corresponding-author publications in SCI-indexed journals, he teaches core courses including Engineering Fluid Mechanics and Wind Power Generation Principles while actively contributing to academic communities as a committee member of the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics and youth editorial board member of the Journal of Engineering Thermophysics.
