He is a Second-Level Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, serving as Director of the Liaoning Key Laboratory for Clean Utilization of Chemical Resources. He previously held key administrative positions including Vice Dean of the Graduate School and Director of the Discipline Construction Office. He earned his B.E., M.S., and Ph.D. all from Dalian University of Technology between 1984 and 1994, followed by postdoctoral research at Tsinghua University under Academician Wang Buxuan (1995-1997). His international academic experience includes research visits to the University of Oxford (2001), Queen Mary University of London (1998), and the University of Missouri (2010). Recognized as a New Century Excellent Talent by the Ministry of Education, his research spans micro/nano-scale transport phenomena, phase change heat transfer, MED seawater desalination, and industrial waste heat utilization. He has led over 40 major research projects, published more than 300 papers, and holds 20 national patents. His technological developments in heat pump-based desalination and absorption heat transformers have been successfully implemented in petrochemical industries, with his dropwise condensation research featured in China's leading heat transfer textbooks.
